Kimberley Fowler is responsible for early-Christian material.
Kimberley Fowler was recruited for the Judaism and Rome project in September 2015, to research early-Christian sources in Greek, Latin, and Coptic.
She gained her doctorate from the University of Manchester in 2013. Her thesis, entitled "From the Apocryphon of John to Thomas the Contender: Nag Hammadi Codex II in its Fourth-Century Context," argued for a Pachomian monastic provencance for the Nag Hammadi Codices, and presented a Pachomian reading of the tractates within Nag Hammadic Codex II.
Between 2011 and 2014, she taught on various undergraduate courses related to the Bible and early Christianity at the University of Manchester, including subjects such as New Testament Greek, "Gnosticism," and contextualising of the New Testament. Prior to joining the "Judaism and Rome" project, she taught Advance Level Classical Civilisations, specifically focusing on Roman epic, Greek tragedy, and women in ancient Greece and Rome.
Her research interests lie particularly in the area of non-canonical Christian literature (especially so-called "Gnostic" texts), her publications to date being focussed on the literature of the Nag Hammadi Library. Kimberley is also currently joint-editing a volume of essays on the theme of "Wilderness" in the Bible and Early Christianity, to be published with Éditions du Zèbre.
